Linkin Park Singer Denies He Plans To Join Velvet Revolver

Chester Bennington, the lead singer of Linkin Park, has denied that he is set to replace Scott Weliand in Velvet Revolver.

Weiland acrimoniously split from the band in April at the conclusion of their European tour.

Since then, there has been much speculation about who would replace the singer, with reports claiming that the band would audition for a new frontman using a Reality TV show.

Speaking to Kerrang, Bennington said that any reports linking him to the position were the result of a misunderstanding.

"I'm friends with all the guys in Velvet Revolver and have played with all of them before. I'm friends with Scott too,” he said.

"I think the rumour that I was going to join Velvet Revolver started because (guitarist) Slash asked me if I'd come play a show with them in Vegas right around the time that Scott left the band.

"Timing-wise, it didn't work out for me, though. Maybe people assumed that invitation meant I was joining the band."

However, Bennington did say that if he was no longer in Linkin Park he would be tempted to join Velvet Revolver.

"If I wasn't in Linkin Park any more and I didn't know Scott, though, I'd say yes. Who wouldn't? The music is great and it would be a really cool opportunity,” he said.

Without any big announcements or major label support, Sylvain Chauveau has emerged in the early 2000s as ane of France's most interesting figures. His solo albums and projects Micro:Mega and Arca all have ties to the post-rock level-headed of the late ‘90s, merely Chauveau refines the formula, falling the "electronic jamming" associated with the style spell retaining its melancholia, creating large-scale whole caboodle out of humble parts, cinematic albums extinct of fragments of violoncello and pianissimo melodies. His first-class honours degree solo CD Le Livre Noir du Capitalisme came out in 2000.

Chauveau started taboo in the Toulouse alt-rock/post-rock getup Watermelon Club. Formed in 1994, it released 2 digest tracks, a mates of singles, a 7" EP, and one full-length album, [Str:m] in 1997. A year afterward, frustrated by a certain want of dedication from the other members of the group and aegir to earn a living with his music, the young Chauveau asked Frédéric Luneau, a guitar player and electronician wHO engineered some of Watermelon Club's sessions, to link up him in a new project. Christened Micro:Mega (following ane of Voltaire's stories), the twosome aimed for a form of ambient rock influenced by Labradford, only less "shoegazing." Their debut CD Photosphere was released in 1999 by Noise Museum and, although only a number one step, standard a good deal vital acclaim in Europe and America. The release of Human on Alice in Wonder the adjacent year consolidated their underground success.

'tween the deuce Micro:Mega albums, Chauveau slipped in his first-class honours degree solo CD Le Livre Noir du Capitalisme. Deeply personal and high on emotion, it standard small attention from the press, simply that didn't stop the artist from preparing a followup. The release of Nocturne Impalpable in October 2001 marked Chauveau's signing to the influential French unexampled medicine label Disques du Soleil et de l'Acier and was accompanied by the debut album from a new project, this one with Joan Cambon: Arca. As Micro:Mega's third composition, Annex, came out in 2002, DSA made Le Livre Noir du Capitalisme more wide useable.

Kirsten Dunst - Kirsten Dunst Says Rehab Spell Was For Depression

Kirsten Dunst has said her stay in a rehabilitation clinic in Utah earlier this year was due to depression, rather than substance abuse.

The Spider-Man actress was admitted to the Cirque Lodge centre in February, the same facility in which Lindsay Lohan was resident after her arrest for driving under the influence.

But while it had been believed that Dunst's admission to the facility had come after a week of heavy partying at the Sundance film festival, she had denied that drug or alcohol problems were at the root of her decision to seek treatment.

"I didn't go to Cirque Lodge for alcohol abuse or drug abuse," the 26-year-old told E! Online in a break from filming her new film All Good Things. "I went there for depression.

"I was struggling, and I had the opportunity to go somewhere and take care of myself," she added.

"I was fortunate to have the resources to do it. My friends and family thought it was a good idea, too."

The 25-year-old split from her boyfriend, Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell, in August last year, with the breakup followed by the robbery of her New York City hotel room. An iPod, mobile phone, digital cameras, cash and credit cards were stolen during the break-in.

And Dunst's reputation for partying has seen her tagged 'Kirsten Drunkst' by some internet bloggers.

However, she explained that she had decided to reveal the extent of her depression now after growing tired of press speculation about her mental state.

"Now that I'm feeling stronger, I was prepared to say something," Dunst said.

"We're all in the same boat together," she said when questioned about why a successful young actress would be depressed.

"Depression is pretty serious and should not be gossiped about."
